Triple H drops the curtain on Netflix era
There are iconic moments throughout the history of the WWE that maybe you didn’t think much of at the time as iconic moments in the business. John Cena’s "Ruthless Aggression” moment, DX invading WCW, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin’s King of the Ring Austin 3:16 interview and CM Punk’s "Pipe Bomb" come to mind as moments that grew as time passed. Chief Content Officer Paul "Triple H" Levesque standing in the middle of the ring as the curtain dropped around him following a perfectly produced cold open will be placed in the archives of one of the most iconic moments in the company’s history. The beginning of the "Netflix Era” (as the boss called it) will never be attached to the darkened-out Intuit Dome with a lone spotlight shining behind Triple H as he welcomed in a new era of professional wrestling. To me, that shot will be placed alongside some of the greatest moments in the company’s history.

The Rock embracing Roman Reigns
It was not a surprise that The Rock was going to be a part of the Netflix debut of Raw. But how The People's Champion was going to interject himself into The Bloodline dispute after not showing his face since the final moments of WWE Bad Blood back in October was maybe the most highly anticipated moment of the show. Was he going to help Solo Sikoa beat Roman Reigns? Was he going to help his cousin beat Sikoa? Was he going to take out everybody and claim the Ula Fala for himself? No, no and no. Having The Rock embrace Reigns with a hug, a kiss and an “I love you” following Reigns' victory over Sikoa to reclaim his place as the one and only Tribal Chief was a special moment, especially considering how Reigns and Paul Heyman seemed so skeptical of The Rock’s arrival and The Rock not tipping his hand until the embrace. Did it fit with their previous interaction? Probably not, but there is plenty of time for that to develop with Saturday Night's Main Event, Royal Rumble and WWE Elimination Chamber over the next two months.

Jey Uso’s electric entrance
That’s what WWE is all about; more than 17,000 fans on their feet for what had to be 10 minutes singing/screaming six words, "Day One It’s Just Me Uce," and energetically Yeeting their arms up and down as Jey Uso and rapper Travis Scott made their way through said crowd and to the ring to face Drew McIntyre. You had Superstars in the crowd Yeeting, and, of course, Pat McAfee climbed on top of the announce table to join along before a “hell with it” was said by Michael Cole, who also got on top of the table. WWE does such a good job with its entrances, but nothing matched that of Uso’s because of the crowd participation and how it got to an instant feverish pitch. I would be willing to wager that a faction of fans in attendance would choose that as their favorite part of the show. I wonder what the new eyes on the product with it being on Netflix now and being global thought about the "Yeeting" entrance?

Rhea Ripley and The Undertaker's fists raised
I was all ready to list Ripley’s groin kick of "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio following "Mami" regaining the Women’s World Championship as one of the top memorable moments of Raw’s first show on Netflix, and then The American Badass showed up to push it even further up the list. It’s never a bad decision to have The Undertaker a part of any WWE event, but The Deadman congratulating the new titleholder was an unexpected thrill. Ripley and The Undertaker raised their fists with the camera at their back to create one of those memorable moments that will be shown over and over. It was an image that makes you wonder: If you could transport Ripley back 20 years, what type of team would The American Badass and The Eradicator make and what chaos would they create?

CM Punk vs. Seth "Freakin" Rollins – an instant classic
The talking between CM Punk and Seth "Freakin" Rollins was done to perfection last week. It was time for the performance inside the ring to match the verbal barbs, and the bout very well may have exceeded it. With only four matches on the card in what was more of a celebratory event compared to what it might be moving forward, Punk and Rollins gave the fans a taste of how this business was built. Punk and Rollins, for the lack of a better term, beat the hell out of each other with Punk getting the worst of it. Punk took two hard Go to Sleeps, a Pedigree on the announce table, a vicious buckle bomb into a Stomp, a dive and a superplex. But it was Rollins who left with a bloody eye and his first loss of the new year. There was a time when their well-being was in question. It was a match that most definitely set up a series heading down the road and delivered a fitting exclamation point to a historic night in WWE.
