Seth Rollins to defend the Universal Title against Rusev after Brock Lesnar’s attack
Following Brock Lesnar’s ruthless attack of Rey Mysterio, the fate of Seth Rollins’ planned Universal Championship defense was up in the air on Raw’s season premiere. The Beastslayer insisted he would defend his title as planned, but no challenger was readily available. But now, following a four-way skirmish to close out “Miz TV,” Rollins has his challenger: Rusev.
The Bulgarian Brute maneuvered his way to the title in quick fashion, coming to Rollins’ aid moments after the announcement of Team Hogan vs. Team Flair at the WWE Crown Jewel event on Thursday, Oct. 31, led to a beatdown from Randy Orton and King Corbin. Rusev quickly called in whatever favor Rollins might owe him by offering to take Mysterio’s place as Rollins’ challenger, and the champion accepted. Keep watching Raw’s season premiere to see who closes out the night with the Universal Title.
