Xia Brookside def. Nina Samuels
For weeks, Nina Samuels has made it her mission to demean Xia Brookside and reduce her to carrying her bags.
She had an opportunity to accomplish that very feat when she battled Brookside one on one with the caveat that the loser would become the winner’s personal assistant for a month. Her plan backfired in spectacular fashion.
Samuels had her rival reeling when she hurled her into the ringside barrier and attempted to clock her with her handbag once they returned to the squared circle, but in the blink an eye, Brookside booted the weapon out of Samuels’ hand and rolled her up for the win!
Samuels tried to attack Brookside after the match, but Brookside escaped, and Samuels threw a fit in the center of the ring.
Tyler Bate def. Bailey Matthews
The first NXT UK Champion, Tyler Bate, issued a clear request to NXT UK General Manager Johnny Saint prior to his match against Bailey Matthews: Find me an opponent.
Matthews gave Bate an early test, taking down The Big Strong Boi with armdrags and a head scissors, but Bate turned the tide when he nearly suplexed his foe inside out and landed a standing moonsault.
Moments later, Bate shook off a kick to the head and planted Matthews with the Tyler Driver ’97. After the bell, Bate helped Matthews back to his feet and shook his hand.
It was later announced that Bate will get his wish in the form of a one-on-one bout against Dave Mastiff in two weeks on NXT UK.
Aoife Valkyrie def. Lana Austin
Another match, another dominant win for Aoife Valkyrie.
The enigmatic Superstar, who has defeated the likes of Dani Luna, Isla Dawn and Nina Samuels, was pushed by Lana Austin, particularly when Austin sent her to the canvas and clobbered her in the head with a basement dropkick.
Valkyrie nevertheless persevered, overwhelming Austin with a spinning heel kick and a unique axe kick from the top rope to remain undefeated.
Pretty Deadly def. Mark Coffey and Wolfgang to win the NXT UK Tag Team Titles
After winning a jaw-dropping Fatal 4-Way Match several weeks ago, Pretty Deadly certainly looked the part of worthy challengers to NXT UK Champions Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus, who won the titles all the way back in October 2019.
Still, unseating Coffey and Wolfgang would take a nearly perfect effort from Pretty Deadly. And Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley indeed came through with the performance of their lives … as well as some questionable championship-clinching tactics.
Stoker and Howley absorbed a tremendous beating throughout the title fight, as Wolfgang effortlessly chucked Stoker from pillar to post and later leapt from the middle rope and came crashing down on the back of Howley. And when Coffey received a tag, he greeted both of his foes with several brutal strikes and ring-rattling suplexes before annihilating Howley with a second-rope bulldog.
But Stoker and Howley kept rising to their feet, shaking off an inhumane amount of punishment and getting back on the attack by dropping Coffey with a unique double-team maneuver.
Wolfgang might have had the match won when he wrecked Howley with a second-rope moonsault, but Stoker broke up the pinfall at the last second. When the fight spilled to ringside, Howley blindsided Wolfgang with a reverse elbow to send him flying over the barricade.
Coffey fought both opponents valiantly and even ducked when Howley tried to strike him with the championship, but Stoker DDT’d Coffey on the title, and Pretty Deadly landed Spilt Milk to capture the titles!
