Miz & Morrison retain WWE Tag Team gold
FRESNO, Calif. -- WWE Tag Team Champions The Miz & John Morrison retained their gold on Tuesday night, after a strong showing against ECW Champion Kane & CM Punk. In a repeat performance of their Judgment Day tag match, ECW's Chick Magnet & the Shaman of Sexy once again were victorious over the Big Red Machine & Mr. Money in the Bank. (WATCH)
Kane, who was still seething after being attacked by the WWE Tag Team Champions on last week's ECW, was determined to walk out of the Save Mart Center with two championships in his giant hands, alongside Punk. But after Morrison hit Punk with a Moonlight Drive and pinned him, Miz & Morrison retained. The Tag Champs seem to be unbeatable when it comes to defending their Extreme gold.
Also on ECW, Evan Bourne made an impressive debut in tag team action. The newcomer paired up with Kofi Kingston to defeat Shelton Benjamin & Mike Knox. Bourne, who said he's spent his life wrestling throughout Japan, England and Germany, preparing to live his dream in WWE, showed off his high-flying skills in the match, pinning Knox for his team's win. With such a remarkable debut, this surely won't be the last the Land of the Extreme sees of Bourne. (WATCH)
ECW General Manager Theodore Long has a new assistant, a blond beauty named Tiffany. While in Long's office, Tiffany was visited by a very friendly Armando Estrada. Their conversation was interrupted by new GM Long, who told Estrada he had another chance to impress him for an ECW contract, this time against Finlay. But Estrada came up short when he met the SmackDown Superstar who loves to fight. (WATCH)
Long gave Estrada another chance to prove his worth, but in his second match in two weeks against Colin Delaney -- the ECW newcomer who also had to earn his Extreme contract -- Estrada was once again quickly defeated by the youngster.
"Armando, you just lost again. You know what they say, that the third time's a charm," Long told Estrada, who was left in pain on the ECW mat.
For his final opportunity of the evening, Estrada faced SmackDown's littlest Superstar, Hornswoggle. But Finlay's son hit Estrada with a tadpole splash off the top rope to pick up the win. After Estrada's losses, Delaney joined Finlay and Hornswoggle to dance a celebratory jig in the ECW ring, but their party was cut short when Finlay delivered a shillelagh to the face of Delaney.
Also on Tuesday night, WWE Divas Championship hopefuls Kelly Kelly and Victoria met in the ECW ring. Both Divas hoped to impress SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero, but it was Victoria who shined. While on the ring apron, Kelly Kelly attempted to lock Victoria into a headscissors, but the devious Victoria knocked the ECW Diva off. Kelly Kelly landed flat on her face and chest, leading ECW referee Scott Armstrong to begin the 10-count . However, his count was interrupted when Kelly Kelly was unresponsive on the ground, leading to Victoria's victory. The SmackDown Diva, who is hoping for a chance at the new WWE Divas Championship, has to wonder if GM Guerrero was watching.
Finally, Mark Henry visited the Land of the Extreme in hopes of meeting Big Show. The World's Strongest Man congratulated Big Show on his One Night Stand victory and shook his hand, but Big Show had words of his own for Henry. (WATCH) More on this story…
