Exclusive photo of David Otunga in "The Call," a new thriller starring Halle Berry
WWE Studios and Troika Pictures have teamed to co-produce and co-finance “The Call,” a high-stakes thriller starring Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin and featuring David Otunga. WWE.com has the first look at the Harvard Law alum in his silver screen debut before the film hits theaters on March 15.
The thriller, directed by Brad Anderson (“The Machinist,” “Transsiberian”), was written by Rich D’Ovidio (“Exit Wounds,” “Thir13en Ghosts”) and based on a story by Rich D’Ovidio, Nicole D’Ovidio and Jon Bokenkamp.
In the film, emergency call center operator Jordan (Berry) takes a call from a teenage girl, Casey (Breslin), who has been abducted and carried away in the trunk of a car. The kidnapping plays out in real time as Jordan and Casey work together to track down the killer in this high-stakes thriller. Otunga trades in his signature travel coffee mug for a badge to play Officer Devans, an LAPD cop. While in constant contact with Jordan, Devans partners with Officer Paul Phillips (Morris Chestnut) to investigate and aggressively pursue the kidnapper.
“The Call” is produced by Troika’s Michael Helfant, Robert Stein and Bradley Gallo, WWE Studios’ Michael Luisi and Jeff Graup. William Gallo, Philip M. Cohen and Chip Rosenbloom are executive producers.
