Do you actively support the Muscular Dystrophy Association or champion those suffering from muscular dystrophy or related diseases? Do you know a young person who does? If so, enter the Community Champion for MDA Contest (the “Contest”) by telling us why you or your nominee should be named a “WWE Community Champion” and you or your nominee could be selected to win tickets to a WWE event, including a meet and greet with a WWE Superstar or WWE Diva.
ELIGIBILITY: You (or your nominee, if applicable) must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States, including the District of Columbia, between the ages of six (6) and seventeen (17). Employees, officers and directors of World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (“WWE”) (including WWE performing talent) and its subsidiaries, affiliates (i.e., entities controlling, controlled by or under common control with, WWE), promotion and advertising agencies and anyone involved in the Contest’s development or execution, and the immediate family members (meaning spouses, parents, siblings, children and their respective spouses) and members of the households of such employees, officers and directors are not eligible to enter or win. By taking part in this Contest, participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to permanently disqualify from this Contest any person it believes has intentionally violated these Rules. Void where prohibited.
HOW TO ENTER: No entry fee necessary to enter. Limit one entry per contestant/nominee. All entries require verifiable parental consent. Entries without verifiable parental consent will be disqualified. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
To enter yourself, send an email to CommunityChampions@wwe.com describing your volunteer work in the fight against muscular dystrophy or related diseases in the past two (2) years and tell us why you should be named a “WWE Community Champion.” Be sure to include your name, address, birth date, telephone number(s), and parent/legal guardian name and telephone number(s). To nominate a young person, send an email to CommunityChampions@wwe.com describing your nominee’s volunteer work in the fight against muscular dystrophy or related diseases in the past two (2) years and tell us why your nominee should be named a “WWE Community Champion.” Be sure to include (i) the nominee’s name, address, birth date, telephone number(s); (ii) the nominee’s parent/legal guardian name and telephone number(s); and (iii) your name, address, birth date and telephone number(s). All entries must be received between 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) on June 20, 2011 and 11:59 p.m. ET on August 31, 2011. Incomplete entries may be disqualified.
JUDGING: All valid entries will be evaluated by a qualified team of judges convened by WWE and the Muscular Dystrophy Association based on the following criteria: (a) demonstrated commitment to, and evidence of supporting, the Muscular Dystrophy Association; and (b) demonstrated contribution to an individual(s) suffering from muscle disease. Each criterion will count for one-half of the total score. In the event of a tie for the top score, the entry receiving the highest score for criterion (a) among the tied entries will be named a winner. Entries will not be judged on use of formal grammar, spelling and writing conventions. On or about September 15, 2011, the two (2) entrants who submitted the top-scoring entries from among all valid entries received will be named prize winners, subject to confirmation.
The decisions of WWE are final and not subject to appeal.
TWO (2) PRIZES: Each prize winner will receive four (4) tickets (for the prize winner and three (3) guests) to a WWE live event in the prize winner’s local area (within 100 miles of winner’s residence), including a meet and greet with a WWE Superstar or WWE Diva (the “Event”) (the exact WWE Event, Event location, seat locations, identity of WWE Superstar or WWE Diva, and date selected by WWE in its sole discretion), a WWE t-shirt, and a WWE Community Champions certificate. In addition, WWE may, at its option, choose to spotlight the prize winners in WWE Kids Magazine and/or on wwe.com. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of the prize: $225, each.
If an Event is not scheduled to take place in the prize winner’s local area within one (1) year of winner’s confirmation as a prize winner, WWE will substitute the stated prize with another prize of comparable or greater value in its sole discretion. Note that WWE may not know the schedule of events for the full year at the time a prize winner is confirmed. In such case, WWE will contact the prize winner once an Event is scheduled in the winner’s local area. All prize winners must be accompanied to the Event by a parent or legal guardian, who must attend the Event at his or her own expense, unless such parent or legal guardian is among the prize winner’s chosen guests. In all cases, the prize winner’s guests, or the parent/legal guardian of any guest who is a minor in his or her state of residence, will be required to sign a Liability and Publicity Release (except where prohibited by law).
All expenses not specified in these Official Rules, including, without limitation, taxes, insurance, transportation, food and beverages, souvenirs and other expenses are solely each prize winner’s responsibility.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS: The parent/legal guardian of each prize winner will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility, a Liability Release and, where legal, a Publicity Release, and any other documentation that Sponsor may require and to see to it that the Sponsor is in receipt of these documents within seven (7) days of having received the same. In all cases, Sponsor reserves the right to request proof of residency, age and parenthood or guardianship, and a winner will be deemed to have forfeited the prize if Sponsor, in its discretion, finds that the proof is unsatisfactory. If a prize winner does not timely return requisite documents, or in the event of non-compliance with any of the requirements of these Official Rules, the prize will be forfeited and the next highest scoring entry will be named a winner and confirmed in accordance with these Official Rules. Prizes may not be substituted, transferred or redeemed for cash, except by Sponsor, who reserves the right to substitute prize with prize of comparable or greater value in its discretion.
