Despite the fact that the pair has more than six decades of wrestling experience between them and that they shared the same locker room in WCW for much of the 90s, this week's Friday Night SmackDown marks the first time "Nature Boy" Ric Flair and the Celtic bruiser, Finlay, will go head-to-head.

A former United States Champion, Finlay first made a name for himself competing overseas in the late 80s and early 90s, but American fans really got to know his roughneck style when he starting competing for WCW in the late 90s.

Despite great success against the likes of Booker T and William Regal in WCW, Finlay never had the opportunity to compete against the 16-time World Champion Flair, who spent much of the same time battling Hulk Hogan and Lex Luger.
 
Now that they are both members of the SmackDown roster there are few facts that are undeniable -- they both know every trick in the book, and will stop at nothing at walking out of SmackDown this week victorious. 

And who knows if Finlay's mighty mite, Hornswoggle, will interject himself into the pair's contest, looking to work some "luck of the Irish" to benefit his boss.
