WWE SuperCard brings WWE SuperToken series to iOS, Android
A little ingenuity and a rare WWE SuperToken will now get you to the grandest stages in 2K’s premier mobile game for iOS and Android.
On Wednesday, 2K announced the arrival of the limited-edition WWE SuperToken series for WWE SuperCard. The new series adds a real-world collectible element to 2K’s mobile card-battling game, as WWE gamers will soon be able to acquire up to 10 rare tokens which can then be used to unlock in-game content. The tokens themselves will be available on March 21, exclusively at U.S. GameStop retail locations.
The 10 prized pieces of the WWE SuperToken series – each one featuring WWE Superstars including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and Paige – will also offer three new cards in WWE SuperCard. Each token will grant one Ultra Rare card, based on the likeness of the Superstar or Diva featured on the token, as well as two other Rare mystery cards.
After adding the new cards to their own WWE SuperCard library, players can then share the tokens up to three times, allowing their friends to obtain access to a Super Rare card based on the likeness of the token’s featured Superstar or Diva. Whether any other rare offerings come up is anyone’s guess, as each token will have a unique distribution quantity, thus making some WWE SuperToken-issued cards rarer than the rest.
Players can activate the in-game content associated with WWE SuperToken in one of two ways. Android users with NFC-enabled technology can simply tap the tokens against their device to transfer the new cards directly into WWE SuperCard. Plus, iOS and Android users can take advantage of QR codes included with the collectible token to unlock the new cards, doing so by using an in-game QR scanner which will be made available in an upcoming WWE SuperCard update.
WWE SuperCard, which is developed by Cat Daddy Games in conjunction with Visual Concepts, is available now to download free of charge on the App Store for iOS devices, as well as the Google Play Store and Amazon Appstore for Android devices.
