The Rock and SpongeBob go back and forth on social media
Even in a pineapple under the sea, they can indeed smell what The Rock is cooking.
SpongeBob SquarePants (who, yes, has a Twitter account) tweeted at the The Great One, asking him what inspired his nickname.
Hey @TheRock, what inspired your nickname...Patrick Star's home? Either way, we love it! #SaySomethingNiceDay pic.twitter.com/PLL5VzfWGc
— SpongeBob (@SpongeBob) June 1, 2018
The People's Champion then sent an amicable reply, asking SpongeBob which of his many nicknames that was being referred to.
Hi Bob, which nickname are you referring to? Big Daddy? The Rock? Samoan Thor? Beef Piston? Or the inappropriate one I earned back in college?
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) June 3, 2018
Ps, love your work.

Of course, per SquarePants' original post, we have a hunch that SpongeBob was referring to "The Rock" itself, as, SpongeBob's good buddy Patrick lives under, well, a rock.
Either way, The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment made sure to let SpongeBob know that he is a big fan of his work. And, now that The Rock and SquarePants have connected over social media, the question must be asked: Is a collaboration next?
